The mission of Lone Oak United Methodist Church is to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ through Prayer, Worship, Study, Witness, and Service. We invite all persons to join us on this journey.


Our front entrance is off the Lone Oak Road/Highway 45 four lane just past Milner and Orr Funeral home on the lelft toward Mayfield.

Alice Gore Class - This class begins each week with a song from the hymnal and follows with their weekly lessons through the Ault Bible Studies. Age group: Couples and Singles age 70 and up. The "Keenagers" Seniors group was begun from this class.

Empty Nesters Class - A discussion class using Adult Bible Studies as a framework. Age group: middle age to retiree.

Genesis Class - Lively discussion is enjoyed as the Genesis Class journeys through the Bible. Every opinion is valued.

Open Door Class - "The door is open and so are our minds as we seek to understand God's claim on our lives." A facilitated open discussion group that welcomes the sharing of doubts, fears, and questions while seeking to be grounded in the essentials of the Christian faith. Study materials: in addition to the Bible, includes a variety from contemporary and classical Christian literature, video series, to programmed study guides and lessons. Topics are selected by the class as a whole. Age group: "The Door is Open to any and all."

Wesleyan Class - This class is known for its open discussion and its unexcelled support for all sides of the discussion. A new member once commented, "I have never experienced so much openness without someone getting offended." Avid concern is expressed for any who may be discouraged by the "technicalities" of religion, family, or hardships. The Wesleyan Class is strong on outreach and generous with time, love and money in caring for the church and community. Age group: "Youthful" 50-80
