Lone Oak United Methodist Church

Centennial Garden

A planned area ½ an acre in size, constructed adjacent to the Old US Hwy 45 Roadway Entrance between the parking area and the picnic pavilion .

The Garden is planned for a place of quiet reflection. A place to Honor or Memorialize persons who have influenced our Christian lives and persons or families who have been devoted to the life of Lone Oak over the past years.

The plan consist of a stone wall surrounding the garden, a sundial central to the garden, raised planting areas for roses and flowers, benches for rest and reflection. Cut stone monuments will be provided for mounting brass name plates for persons being honored or memorialized.

A Garden Fund has been established to raise the estimated $40,000 to $50,000 needed to finish the project. If you would like to help support this project please mark your contributions accordingly. We will list all gifts in the monthly newsletters just as we do the Honorariums and Memorials to the Building Fund. All Memorials and Honorariums will automatically go into the Building Fund if they are not designated to the Garden.

A drawing of the proposed garden is included to give you a better idea of the plans. If you have any questions please contact Buddy Church, Ben Boone or the Church Office.
